BCT is excited to announce Auditions for our Fall project!
Love, Loss and What I Wore is a staged reading of monologues and scenes featuring stories from women's lives, through the lens of what they were wearing at the time.
Think of how many rites of passage are centered around clothing: the first time you were allowed to pick out your own outfit; the various personas you adopted as an adolescent, trying to define yourself; choosing a prom dress and/or wedding gown; maternity wear; job interviews; and many more.
Embedded in this way of looking at life are our often complicated relationships with society's expectations, body image issues, our mothers, love interests, and ultimately, our sense of who we want to be in the world. The play explores all of these themes in sometimes hilarious, sometimes poignant ways. Primarily a series of monologues, there are also two- and three-person scenes and ensemble sections.
The piece will be presented live (if possible) in October; alternatively, we will present a streaming version.
Seeking 5-10 women, ages 18 and up (no upper limit).
Auditions will be at the Bangor Grange Hall, 1192 Ohio St. Callbacks, if needed, will be Saturday, August 21st between 4:00-5:00pm.
You do not have to prepare a monologue, unless you want to - we will be reading from the script.
